Shelly is a red eared slider turtle. Red eared sliders are named for the red stripe around their ears and because they slide off rocks and logs into the water. Originally from the southern United States and northern Mexico, today Red Eared Sliders are found all over the world, even in places where they do not belong. Shelly is not lonely. Some turtles are very shy. Some turtles do not get along with others. Shelly loves having her own tank to swim in, her own cave to rest in, her own sunbathing platform. And she loves getting all of the attention!
