My name is Rose Walker. I have lived in Franklin County for 36 years. I currently live in Ferrum with my husband, our 3 beautiful children, and our many pets. My husband Scott is a member of Ferrum Volunteer Fire Department and works at Superior Retread in Rocky Mount. My daughter Brianna is a senior at FCHS, plays soccer, and is also a member of Ferrum Volunteer Fire Department. Brianna was just recently hired to work at the Franklin County Animal Shelter. My son Hunter is in 8th grade at BFMS and is currently playing for the SML travel soccer team. My son Michael is in 4th grade at Ferrum Elementary, he is a member of the Agriculture Club at his school and plays soccer. I enjoy cuddling with my sweet pup Juniper, hiking, reading, and going camping with my family. I started working at the Franklin County Animal Shelter in April of 2021. Before that, I volunteered at the shelter for a year walking dogs and helping clean. I chose this career path because I have a strong passion for animal rescue and a love for all animals. My dream has always been to work at an animal shelter where I could help nurture, love, and care for animals who have been through so much and help them find their forever homes. I hope to continue with this career for many more years.
